Parent Training

Raising a child with special needs is one of the most rewarding — and most demanding — experiences a parent or caregiver can face. At Grandma’s Place, we believe that when we equip caregivers with the right tools, knowledge, and confidence, the whole family benefits. That’s the heart of our Parent Training Program.

Who We Serve

At Grandma's Place, we recognize that supporting a child with special needs begins with empowering the extraordinary parents and caregivers who love them. Through our personalized Parent Training program, families can access one-on-one and group sessions led by experienced specialists, covering specialized topics tailored to their unique household goals and challenges. These interactive sessions focus not only on equipping parents with practical techniques to enhance their child’s daily care and development, but also on delivering essential strategies for self-care, stress management, and caregiver wellness. By strengthening both skill and resilience, our parent training ensures you have the guidance, tools, and confidence needed to be the absolute best caregiver possible for your child—and for yourself.

What the Program Offers

Communication skills — approaches tailored to children who may have sensory, developmental, or emotional processing differences.

Crisis prevention tools — proactive strategies that help families anticipate and navigate difficult moments before they escalate.

Routine and structure — guidance on creating home environments where children feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
